Financial Development Program

The Financial Development Program is aimed at accelerating the growth of remarkable people into exceptional leaders; leaders who are steeped in financial management skills. Training the next generation of management is essential to PCC's continued success as a company squarely focused on market leadership and profitable growth. Our Financial Development Program is designed to teach program members the critical aspects of PCC's business so that they can effectively influence the future direction of the company. What would I be doing?

Participants rotate through two divisions and at least four positions over a 24 month training period. The rotations involve on-the-job assignments that provide maximum exposure to PCC's operations. Standards for success are high and performance is reviewed on a semi-annual basis. Each program member is assigned a mentor, as well as a supervisor for each rotation. In two years, those selected will be immersed in four cross-functional rotations, typically as follows:

What are the Criteria for Entry?

Our Financial Development Program represents the finance and accounting segment of the business. Program members must have a firm grasp of the accounting discipline (a minimum of 12 credit hours of accounting coursework is required), while at the same time be able to manage and drive continuous improvement in our manufacturing operations. We also look for the following characteristics:

 
  • A GPA of 3.0 or Greater
  • Demonstrated Leadership
  • Work Experience (in manufacturing, a plus)
  • High Motivation
  • Strong Analytical Skills
  • Strong Communication Skills; Persuasive
  • Integrity; Moral and Ethical
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status

What Happens upon Graduation?

Upon completion of the 2 year program, FDP graduates typically receive between 3-7 offers of employment from throughout the corporation, US operations. Due to their program experience, FDP graduates are highly valued by senior management.

Intake Process

The FDP has 2 intakes per year; classes start in January and July of each year. 1st Round evaluations take place on-campus at a targeted university, arranged otherwise for candidates from non-targeted universities; 2nd Round evaluations take place on-site. Orientation takes place is at our headquarters in Portland, Oregon.
